Who said that ski resorts were not wonderful in the summer?
If you want be away from the unbearable heat and the crowds flocking to the beaches, nothing could be better than a summer stay in the mountain, to take a bath in the nature while making the most of a pleasantly mild climate. Megève offers a range of activities during the summer months, which would make all winter visitors long for it.
OUTDOOR
Ramble and trail
For those who are passionate about ramble, you can, with or without a guide, put on your walking shoes and walk around the surrounding mountains, and benefit from the sumptuous landscapes that offer multiple views of the valley. Various marked trails are offered at the tourist office, and walkers of all levels will find their happiness.
The gondolas of Jaillet and Mont d'Artois and several others remain open in the summer, allowing you to climb directly to the summit and to multiply your possibilities of course. For trail lovers, at least four trails are conducive to running in the mountains, and several institutions in the village offer specialized training.
White - water rafting
Fans of white water will not be disappointed either: canyoning, rafting, hydrospeed or canocraft ... Anything goes when it comes to the river!
Mountaineering and Via Ferrata
To explore the mountain, there’s nothing better than to reach it uncompromisingly ! This is what mountaineers, sports enthusiasts of mountain passes and uneven terrain, who go exploring the massifs in multiple ways: high altitude rock races, ridge course, snow, ice and mixed races. Combining adventure with security, this is the challenge of the properties named Guide de Hautes Montagnes!
For those who are not impressed by the empty space, the Via Ferrata is a form of hiking alternating natural paths and rocky course secured by a cable. Progression is facilitated by rungs of ladders, monkey bridges and other footbridges. It allows to discover unsuspected corners that, without via ferrata, would remain inaccessible.
IN THE VILLAGE
In terms of infrastructure, the Palais des Sports comes in the foreground with an outdoor pool, SPA facilities and climbing walls. In addition, it offers visitors a wide range of activities of all kinds, especially for children.
